вобщем то все работает, но не так как хотелось бы.
работает с таким иксоргом (привожу только измененные секции):

работает так: создается еще по дисплею на каждоп рабочем столе, с заданным разрешением, справа, которые и выводятся на тевилизор. все бы гуд да вот только при переключении рабочих столов картинка на телевизоре соответственно переключается sad.gif.

хотелось бы, в идеале: чтобы на телик выводился какой нибудь один из моих рабочих столов ну или что то в этом роде, вобщем предлагайте свои конфиги, если можно то с кратким описанием как оно работает.

Собcтвено у меня работает таким образом:

на компе два ра,очих стола, можно их изменять по любому совершено независимо от TV.

на ящике отдельный рабочий стол со своими настройками (точнее 4, почему-то)

Если карточка nvidia, то все настраивается при помощи nvidia-settings без ковыряния xorg.conf руками.

А как добиться высококачественного воспроизведения видео из dv-avi на видеокартах GeForce? имеется ввиду работа с полями. Сколько не ковырял, но так и не удалось сделать стабильным такое воспроизведение... то поля совпадают, то местами путаются, то на пол экрана совпадает на пол экрана не совпадает... на винде однако с этим проблемм не было, неужели тут это не приведено в порядок? НУЖНА СТАБИЛЬНАЯ СИНХРОНИЗИРОВАННАЯ РАБОТА С ПОЛЯМИ! (Еще обращал внимание в винде при использовании overlay fulscreen video скачек изображения при начале воспроизведения и в конце, в линуксе такого я так и не наблюдал) Linux Gentoo Xorg X11 7.3, KDE, GeForce video card. Пробовал плейеры: vlc, medaiplayer, xine

Спасибо огромное! Неужели получилось...
Я пытался настроить свой TV-Out месяца два с половиной. Весь инет обшарил. То вообще не работало, то только верхняя левая часть экрана и всё чёрно-белое. А тут нарвался на этот конфиг и всё отлично пошло и цветное. Вот только есть три проблемки...
1. Разрешение экрана монитора - 1024x768 при том, что я привык на 1280x1024. Знаю, что нужно копать ModeLine в xorg.conf. Но думаю, что у меня опять на телевизоре после этого будет только верхний левый угол, а не весь рабочий стол.
2. При таком воспроизведении изображение выводится не на весь экран. Виден рабочий стол и окошко, в котором идёт видео. Как сделать, чтобы по умолчанию запускалось полноэкранное видео?
3. Как при таком воспроизведении управлять MPlayer`ом? Останавливать, перематывать...

Если кто ответит, буду очень признателен.

Теперь на компе 1280x1024, на телеке так и осталось 800x600.

2 и 3 проблемы:
Управление происходит через терминал. Т.е. сделать терминал, в котором вызвал mplayer активным и можно управлять с помощью горячих клавиш. Для полноэкранного режима - F, для выхода - Q, для перемотки - стрелки, и т.д. Инфу по горячим клавишам можно получить с помощью "волшебной" команды man mplayer

вот еще сделал по другому, но все равно не работает
вот что я делал: (оригинал http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/NVidia/TV-OUT)
исправил файл /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config эту строчку
allowed_users=console
на эту
allowed_users=anybody
Потом исправил xorg.conf до такого состояния:

На тв картинка черно-белая в чем может быть проблема? Под виндой тестил там на сек 10 становится цветной потом почемутов тож сбрасывает на черно-белое.
