Есть нетбук Acer Aspire One D257
под управлением PCLinuxOS, ядро 2.6.38.8-pclos3.bfs

Кроме багов вроде "не работает "тап" по тачпаду" - на это есть мышь, некорректной перезагрузки (возможен только выкл/вкл); и в профилях энергосбережения наблюдается всего один профиль - "Производительность", несмотря на то, что это лэптоп, меня больше всего интересует один (хотя и остальные тоже)):

Встроенный кардридер отказывается видеть SD-SDHC-карты.
Mandriva 2011, будучи установленной на тот же нетбук, не брыкается и принимает все карты памяти без проблем. Исчезает вообще весь список проблем, кроме тормознутости свежеустановленной недопиленной системы - ну, если это KDE.
...Поясню сразу, если кто захочет дать "хороший" совет: мне не другой дистриб найти надо, - требуется, чтобы всё заработало на PCLOS.

Так и должно быть, это значит, что модуль загрузился без ошибок.
После этого можно заглянуть в dmesg.

Решение "тапа" по тачпаду с Xorg 1.10.3 на разных машинах, оказывается, далеко не секрет (ну, просто мне пришлось на PCLOS первый раз с этой проблемой столкнуться), и существует несколько вариаций на выбор. Перепечатывать здесь не имеет смысла, всё, и даже больше, есть на родном сайте (разжёвано по-русски) PCLinuxOS. Есть, наверно, много где, но я, естественно, искал всё про эту ОСь.
Жаль, там ничего не сказано о кардридерах...

Всем спасибо, решение - как всегда, простейшее - найдено, и в этом мне помог товарищ San4ezZ, опубликовав его на русском форуме PCLinuxOS.
Беру на себя смелость скопипастить его сюда, мало ли кому понадобится:

Скачать драйвер по ссылке
Распаковать архив

В консоли, используя cd, зайти в папку с архивом и выполнить команды (cd rts_pstor ):
$ make
После этого от рута
# make install
# depmod
Перезагрузиться.

Теперь кардридер - ваш!
