Имеется: D-Link DSL-200 ver.B1, Mandriva 2006 (kernel 2.6.12), фиксированый IP от WebPlus. Специально для этого модема и провайдера есть руководство, которому я и следовал, но эффекта не достигнул. После выполнения всех настроек модем соединяется с сетью на низшем уровне, но коннект не появляется (если пинговать, то появляется сообщение: Network is unreachable). На последнем этапе подключения появляется надпись:

По-моему, уже есть одно несоответствие: маска подсети должна быть 255.255.255.0...
Интерфейс поднят только для lo это служебное устройство. tap0 отсутствует соответственно ничего не работает. Ты точно по статье всё делал? какие нибудь ошибки выдавали скрипты?

Звонил в сапорт, я у них тоже не пингуюсь. Сдается мне, что это из-за неправильно прописаной маски подсети: вместо 255.0.0.0 надо бы 255.255.255.0 - где это можно поменять?

Всё должно работать. Попробуй сразу же после старта eciadsl попинговать какой нибудь из днс серверов. Если хоть один пинг пройдёт -- хорошо. нет, будем дальше разбираться. Повтори eciadsl-start ping несколько раз.

Пробовал. Сразу после подключения пинговать начинает сама система (это видно на графике), пробовал набрать # ping 194.8.160.90 - пишет размер пакета, а их посылать не начинает - видимо, зависает. Я долго не ждал, останавливал.

Подожди около минуты, потом Control+C и должны показать что то типа
2 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 1003ms
Такое есть?
и ещё вывод команды lsmod | grep usb
