Сам бьюсь с nVidia FX 5200... правда их работают.
1. в твоем xorg.0.log такая строчка:

Я так понял это, что-то связанное с 3d...если с английским порядок можно сдесь глянуть

У вас карточка NV GFX5200 а драйвер выбрали NV RIVA 128 - не то. При выборе драйвера нужно выбрать NVIDIA Geforce-Geforce 8800. На диске от линуксцентра есть проприетарные драйверы.
Когда загрузитесь и вас "выбросит" в консоль набрать drakconf, там уже настраивать видеокарту.

LlexM, не, с англ не дружу :(
Naymnik, забыла сказать что первоначально ставила именно 8800, потом перебрала все предложенные варианты, этот был последний результат везде одинаковый
это я делала через "обновление mandriva" c загрузочного диска, умней не придумала
grinder, к сожалени я совсем новичок и что такое Direct Rendering не знаю, вся конфигурация создана в результате установки и я там ничего не меняла
можно глупый вопрос - опять же в консоли я первый раз и !просто запарилась! :wacko:
я нашла вошла под root, выполнила команду chmod 644 /etc/X11/xorg.conf (ничего не написал вернулся обратно к # но вроде так и надо), выполнила команду vim (mcedit не получается пишет нет команды), эту строчку я удалила, если просто нажимать # клава не реагирует, надо нечто вроде y а потом # полагаю?
но главный вопрос в том как это сохранить?..
извините что задаю такие мелкие вопросы, но у меня на отрытие этой инфы что я написала ушел день, вероятно еще столько же уйдет чтобы найти остальное... :2:

в консоли набираешь команду
su root
your_pass ( это тут тебе надо будет ввести свой пароль рута )

потом нажимаешь
mc
стрелочками перемещаешься по папкам и на нужном файле жмёшь F4 ( редактирование )

всё :rolleyes:

PS: как изменишь что надо - жми F10 (выход )
тебе предложат сохранить изменения - соглашайся

Миднайт в нативной 2008 по дефолту вроде не ставицо, надо с диска/нета доставлять. Как в LCE не знаю, мож исправили.

Eksodusmen, спасибо! только mc и впрямь не работает.. я все-таки нашла :happy: команда i или a для ввода текста, esc после окончания ввода, выход и сохранение команда ZZ (это в редакторе vim, mcedit тоже не работает)
закоментировать это сделать вида "#Load "glx" # 3D layer"? так не получилось, строчку я просто удалила, было уже обрадовалась тк началось какое-то мелькание красного поля с курсором но потом все опять выпало в консоль :(
ошибки (EE) AIGLX: DRI module not loaded уже нет, появилась надпись:
Using vt 7
(II) Module already built-in (3 строчки с таким текстом) и далее waiting for X server to shut down

потом, гм, я вспомнила что драйвера поставлены на riva 128, залезла опять в обновление установила проприетарные драйвера на geforce 5200 (кстати а они ведь упомянуты в самом xorg.conf, может и не в них дело?), повторила процедуру с удаление стоки Load "glx" # 3D layer, в итоге получила текст:

Да, вы уж верните Load "glx" # 3D layer на место. Система на это и ругается.
Кстати, а как вы из консоли файл редактировали? через VI ? там можно после редакция нажать [:]>wq>enter

строку вернула, имею после startx тот же

и когда пытаюсь запуститься на весь экран логотип Nvidia появляется :rolleyes:
через vim, mcedit тоже не работает

drakconf не работает, если конечно я правильно набрала просто после # drakconf и энтер

LlexM а у вас обычная мандрива или free - может попробовать другую.. вы же запускаетесь как будто ^_^ то что у меня это как раз "не запускаются иксы"? ^_^

кстати когда я просто добавила строку у меня вышла таже ошибка в добавок к моей что и у вас что-то про :
libglx.so переустановила через обновление вернулось в первозданный вид

1. У меня Mandriva 2007 , которая discovery.
2. В vi , я редактировал файл так, нажимаешь [a] - переходишь в режим -вставка- делаешь то, что нужно, потом esc , потом нажимаешь двоеточие [:], затем wq и enter.
3. Кстати у меня ошибки в установке драйвера тоже присутствовали при первичной установке системы.
Ну, это всё лирика.По порядку.
В логах есть предупреждение относительно (WW) No FontPath specified. Using compiled-in default.
НЕ ЗНАЮ может в разных версиях это по разному, но у меня в xorg есть секция

Из личного опыта - действуйте по порядку.
Может кто ещё чего дельного подскажет.. Я вот победить свой драйвер так и не смог, пришлось ставить более раннюю версию.
Да, вот ещё, при проблеме с родным драйвером nVidia Х у меня запускались, после замены
Driver "nvidia" на Driver "nv"

LlexM, закоментировать не помогло, сначала первую закоментила, потом вторую, потом заменила "nvidia" на nv он стал ругаться что нет такого драйвера.. все вернула

поменяла кстати 8800 прямо в тексте на 5200 .. и как ни странно ничего не изменилось (впрочем учитывая что он есть в conf наверное ничего странного?)! он на это не ругался..

Eksodusmen, а как его подключать?

ммм... я правильно понимаю, что вы набираете #, а потом ещё и drakconf ?
Если да, то знак # набирать не нужно. В выводе команд он просто означает, что команда должна запускаться из-под рута. Аналогично, знак $ означает, что команда должна выполняться от юзера.
Чтобы зайти рутом, достаточно набрать просто
su
а потом пароль рута.
Также, я правильно понимаю, что у вас сейчас пока иксы не поднимаются? Т.е. граф. оболочка не запускается?

нет, # я не набираю. он там есть, то есть выглядит все так
[что-то там с root]# drakconf потом энтер, в итоге пишет command not found (ну или смысл такой дословное не помню)
с пользователями уже разобралась
да, не запускается графическая оболочка

еще замечание, эту самую мандруву я пытаюсь поставить второй раз, так вот в первый она сначала запустилась, я посидела немного в ней, а на след день вот такая беда, тогда я ее снесла, а сейчас решила еще раз щастья попытать, но в этот раз она не пошла сразу

XFdrake попробуйте запустить, это консольная утилита
и я б попробовала настроить как vesa, а потом спокойно разобраться с нвидией...

Надо бы для приличия удалить нафик все сторонние драйвера кроме vesa, забекапить конфиг и прогнать эту тулзу.

в каком смысле?? курсор крестиком?
каковы были ваши действия паосле прогона этого скрипта? ошибок он там не выдал? в конце, если всё правильно, он должен сообщить, что конфигурация записана в файл /root/xorg.conf.new. Потом вы копируете этот файл в /etc/X11 , переименовываете его в xorg.conf и запускаете иксы от юзера, как обычно -- startx
Предварительно скопируйет куда-нить текущий xorg.conf

Juliette, нет, обычный курсор горизонтальной палочкой, как если нажать shift+дефис
насчет ошибок не скажу, все промелькало очень быстро а потом черный экран с курсором, висел несколько минут потоя я перегрузилась, файла xorg.conf.new в папке root не появилось

попробую еще раз

нет, все тоже, чистый черный экран, курсор, но он не мигает, клава ни на что не реагирует

Это у вас бред какой-то... по ходу дела у вас с системой шо-то странное творится.
Проще переставиться, выбрв граф. карту как vesa и настроив рабочее разрешение монитора, там где пимпочка "проверить".
давай переустанавливайте, и потом спокойно поставим драйвер и всё такое.

p.s. а может я при установке неправильно что делаю? у мня стоит одна oc - xp
я на диске сделала раздел 1гб. отформатировала в 3 , туда соответственное ставлю линукс, для начального загрузчика выбираю первое меню (что-то там с буквы М начинается)

Ну правильно, я ж сказала выше, что надо перед этим удалить все сторонние драйвера, которые вы там пытались ставить или что.... Тему не осилила полностью просто, в глазах рябит. :)
Просто этот X -configure генерит вполне работоспособный конфиг для иксов для vesa, так что, в принципе, и переставляться не надо будет.

Juliette, то есть откуда их удалять надо, неужели с виндовского диска? я перед этой последней установкой отформатировала диск с старой мандривой, что еще надо удалить?..

откуда получен дистрибутив?
Да, я так понимаю, что если не получается, вы запускаете полную установку с форматированием разделов linux?

А может попробовать (если вновь будете переустанавливать) не выбирать проприетарные драйверы.
Только давайте сперва попбробуем разбратся, с ситуацией как она есть сейчас.

в последний раз да, полная установка с форматированием раздела(!) линукс, вобще-то он один
в прошлый раз (этот) откат делала с помощью опции Обновить (когда загружаешься с этого диска и есть уже установленная мандрива он предлагает обновление)

попробовать можно, на данный момент у меня в наличии мандрива на свежеотформатированном диске с выбором vesa, лог есть выше

Так вы отметили карту как vesa, а драйвер для NVidia что-ли поставили? Во время установки-то...
