звуковая карта распознается "через раз"

Здравствуйте!
Сразу хочу предупредить, что от линукса я как пользователь отвык (последний раз использовал Альт версии 2.2, кажется), в основном же работаю с FreeBSD. Однако поскольку ядро линукс предлагает более широкий набор драйверов, я решил установить на свой ноутбук (Acer Travelmate 2200) Ubuntu 5.04.
Проблема заключается в том, что звуковая карта у меня распознается через раз. Т.е. ESD временами работает, а временами пишет:
Сбой при создании проверочной цепочки для "ESD - Enlightenment Sound Daemon"
(при попытке проверить звук в программе "Выбор мультимедийной системы").

Отвечу сам себе: проблема полечилась добавлением в /boot/grub/menu.lst загрузочного параметра 'acpi=noirq' для моего ядра.
