и снова nVidia

уважаемые господа (а, возможно, и дамы) профи.
имею уже неделю установленным мандрейк 10.0 комьюнити, а также GeForce2 MX/MX400. объясните пожалуйста чайнику, как настроить ТВ-аут, чтобы на ТВ фильм, а на мониторе - работа или скажите что не правильно я написал в XF86Config-4. что бы я там не написал - все равно на телевизоре изображения нет

дык ить накуримшись нВидиа_доков сюда пришел табак стрелять.

покуримши доку от clx имею опять тот же результат при загрузке linux-smp, а вот при загрузке linux икса вообще не грузится со словами:

OpenGL работает? glxinfo |grep direct
Что-то мне кажется, что у тебя как-то криво стоят дрова.

По всей видимости, не собран модуль под имеющуюсю версию ядра. Или он просто не подгружен заранее. Можно попробовать ручками:

modprobe nvidia - для перекомпиляции ядра 8-) ?

Для joynter:
Неа. Эта команда загружает модуль "nvidia", который является частью драйвера.
После неё надо стартовать X'ы. А до неё - не надо.

делал modprobe nvidia и до старта Х и после (стартХ -> telinit 3 -> modprobe nvidia -> telinit 5) а результат не изменился.
хоть я и чайник, но что-то мне подсказывает, что надо ядро компилить - согласитесь, пожалуйста, или опровергните

Ядро не нужно пересобирать.
Я так понял что у тебя сейчас минимум два ядра? Если ты собирал драйвера под одно, то под другим оно работать не будет. Вобщем выкинь smp (не из меню загрузки, а вообще пакет) и пересобери драйвер заново. перед этим ещё проверь чтоб не было других левых ядер и "лишних" исходников ядра, (их в Мандрейке несколько).
Свобода есть тонкая полоска между диктатурой и анархией.

неее..., ядро у меня одно - я специально 2.4.25мдк не устанавливал чтоб путаницы не было. а вот еще вопрос: как должен называться smp пакет, чтоб я его удалил?

последний вопрос был чисто риторическим.
удалив кернел-смп-2.6.3.4мдк имею неизменно стабильный результат:
с Иксой на мониторе могу делать что хочу, а вот на ящике никаких изменений - синий экран ожидания сигнала.

Тоо что ты настраиваеш это не двое иксов, а два скрина на одних иксах. Я такой способ когдато пробовал, он мне не понравился тем что фактически висит в памяти две копии КДЕ.
А по конфигу - ИМХО не хватает: Option "NoDDC", Option "ConnectedMonitor" "crt" и Screen 0 В девайсе.
Вобщем смотри тута и делай по аналогии - ftp://ftp.kraft-s.ru/pub/linux/XFree86/TV-Out/
Свобода есть тонкая полоска между диктатурой и анархией.

пробовал делать по аналогии,
пробовал вставлять Option "NoDDC", Option "ConnectedMonitor" "crt" и Screen 0 В девайсе - безрезультатно
что же все-таки твориться? и как енто выяснить?

Вот xorg.config с настроенным ТВ выходом. Именно xorg, а не XF86!!!!! Единственное, ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО обрати внимание на строчку Option "NvAgp" "1" у меня завелось всё только когда сделал параметр = 1, а так он по умолчанию =3
