Решено: slim и локализация

Ситуация такая стоит Xfce поставил slim до этого стоял gdm, после этого перезагрузился и все
меню стали на английском (были русские), в rc.conf и locale-gen стоит русский. 
Куда копать, какие конфиги еще подправить, что доустановить?

Раньше была такая проблема, решил добавлением
export LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8
в ~/xinitrc, используемый slim'ом. Сейчас проблема как-то разрешилась, привожу свой slim.conf и ~/.xinitrc

gdm управляет локалью, слим - нет.
полагаю нужно поменять настройки в самом xfce.

мне не очень понятно, что значит «управлять локалью». Что, собственно, имеется в виду?

Да, никаких проблем со slim не было, пользуюсь им года два, всем доволен. У меня все работает!

Извините, но я новерное чего-то не понимаю у меня /etc/slim.conf такойже (как указано 2 посте0 кроме авто-лога и в место fluxbox у меня xfce4

Вот 

Ну во первых так оно точно работать не будет. У вас же экспорт идет ПОСЛЕ exec. тоесть он выполнится тогда, когда вы из xfce выйдете.
Во вторых у вас явно какие то ошибки с локалью.
В третьих - я проверил у меня все работает нормально. Никаких дополнительных манипуляций не нужно, достаточно строчки в rc.conf:
LOCALE="ru_RU.UTF-8"

Уточните "ru_RU.utf8" или "ru_RU.UTF-8" на одном форуме писали что нужен первый вариант второй ошибка?

 Всем спасибо, вопрос решен. Я нахимичил, оказалось, в locale.gen: вместо ru_RU снял решетку с ru_UA
