Пару вопросов по фряшке.

Поставил фряху в виртуалбокс.
Поднял иксы и третьи кеды через pkg_add -r xorg kde
Но стоит тупое разрешение экрана. 800х600
По поиску в гугле:
xorg.conf настройка

Ничего не было особенного. Только в генту хендбуке

Все ровно не ставится нужное разрешение экрана. Что делать? Так же напоминаю что система стоит на виртуалбоксе, по этому об установки драйверов можно забыть. И гостевых дополнений так же нету для фряхи. Что делать?

И еще, в фряхе шрифты редкостное г. Где нме взять шрифты? Про какие русские шрифты г. я вообще молчу.

ну во первых - какая фря, во вторых - какие Хы и в третьих - какие кеды?
еще вариант - выделено слишком мало памяти для ВБшной видяхи - поэтому все, что можно, он и выдает
а вообще уже достаточно давно Хы замечатлеьно работают без конфига

во вторых - гостевые дополнения для фри есть.

в третьих - webfonts спасут отца русской демократии. на всякий случай предупрежу, что "редкостное г" - это исключительно Ваше мнение и в следующий раз прошу высказываться более аккуратно

ну английские шрифты у фри стандарты и меня устраивают. да, русских нормальных нет. но это не проблема фри, а больше ксорга. с бесплатными русскими шрифтами вообще напряг. кстати, те же webfonts - это шрифты микрософта и их использование предполагает, что у вас есть лицензия на их использование .

По поводу шрифтов и прочего, по умолчанию шрифты в системе - не расчитанны на кирилицу, отсюда разннообразные некорректные отображения в духе латиница одиним шрифтом а русский чем попало... Я долго подбирал шрифты для себя. Может Вас заинтересует мой сайт http://www.bsdnotes.ru, у меня описано пошагово как превратить FreeBSD в десктоп (включая шрифтовую ситуацию), причем без использования навороченных DE типа GNOME и KDE. Почитайте, может у вас отпадет множество вопросов по настройкам...

Webfonts - это не что иное, как http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_fonts_for_the_Web , и лицензия у них - http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fontpack/eula.htm , в частности:

Да, в 2002-м MS хотели "вернуть всё взад", но что один раз выпущено под такой лицензией, то уже не запретишь обратно.
