Как разогнать проц Celeron D 2.53 GHz, весьма специфичная мать

Комп фирменный - HP Compaq dx2000MT. BIOS - AMI v02.54. Биос страшненький. В нем написано, что множитель проца заблокирован. Никаких настроек для снятия множителя нет. Утилиты для обновы биоса тоже не видно.
При вскрытии компа я внимательно, с лупой, осмотрел мать - на ней даже нет модели и имя вендора!

Ммм... биос не обновился - сказал, что-то вроде того, что, не подходит марка биоса. Крмое того, я сомневаюсь, что это поможет изменить CPU Rate - все-таки ПО фирменное...

Вопрос, ИМХО, скорее в том, а нужен ли разгон? Ну 10-12% вытянете. А толку? На глаз вряд ли заметите существенный прирост производительности.
Кроме того, *nix достаточно требовательны к качеству железа и разгон не уважают. Железо, по идее, качественное.
Куда продуктивнее ОЗУ добавить по возможности, систему оптимизировать под задачи.
Серия Compaq dx2000 (как и любой из HP обычно) бо-о-ольшая, чуть ли не для каждой страны (куда поставлялась) свои "приблуды" имелись.
Обычно на корпусе сзади (сбоку внизу, иногда на днище) наклейка с параметрами, что за железка.
Даже серийный номер может иметь значение, дабы разобраться, что сие за экземпляр и какие его параметры (характеристики).
sudo lshw из под приличного LiveCD даст если не все, то почти все для фирменной "железяки", для noname или подделки пробелов будет много.
Можно и инструментом поглядеть. Он не такой уж большой. Пользуюсь и доволен пока.

А с чего Вы взяли, что это вообще возможно - разблокировать множитель у CPU?
У подавляющего большинства процессоров Intel он заблокирован аппаратно, в самом CPU.
Даже если Вы умудритесь найти такой BIOS, который позволит выставить другой множитель, процессор его банально проигнорирует.
И тупо помножит заданную BIOS-ом частоту системной шины на свой внутренний, зашитый в нём множитель.

Незаблокированный множитель у процессоров Intel бывает весьма редко - у инженерных сэмплов (вряд ли Вы сможете такой достать, и уже тем более он не будет стоять в брендовой машине), у старших моделей семейства ограниченной номенклатуры и т.п..
Сабжевый процессор к этим категориям никак не относится, это low-end..

Автор, запустите на этой машине в консоли от root-а программу
