Ставил ядро 2.6.12.1 (до этого было 2.4.26) Всё скомпилив дал команду #lilo -t, написало :
Added Windows *
Added newLinux
Added Linux-2.6.12.1
Added Linux
The boot sector and the map file have *NOT* been altered.

О чем последняя строчка ?

-t Test only. Do not really write a new boot sector or map file. Use together with -v to find out what lilo is about to do.
