Исходники ядра (где их найти?!!)

Установил себе федору 5 х64. Теперь для установки драйвера nVidia нужны исходники, а качать их... Сами понимаете... Они где-нибудь сохраняются после установки дистра? Или где-нить на установочных дисках. В общем нид хелп Заранее спасибо

Исходники ядра непременно есть на установочном диске в виде РПМ-пакета. Так что поройтесь там. Или подождите ответа в данной теме от пользователей Федоры.
Так же изучите каталог /usr/src - быть может, там у Вас есть исходники.

Или вот вариант: у меня, как только установил федору, все браузеры по умолчанию были выставлены на файл, в котором описывались особенности дистрибутива. Если еще не снес установке по умолчанию (хотя бы в lynx), можешь почитать, там должно быть написано.

Набираешь в консоли lynx, и у тебя появляется html-дока с особенностями дистрибутива.
Для ядра установи пакет kernel-devel

где именно искать? только что скачал kernel-smp-devel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.i686.rpm, была создана папка /root/rpmbuild/ и в ней все те же заветные пустые папки + папка build(тоже пустая) в чем проблема?

Примерно так оно должно называться. Версия, естественно, другая.
Все-таки советую покопаться Вам на установочных дисках.

классически самые последнии ядра берут прямо с kernel.org, дрова с патчами к ним со всего инета, но когда я лично это сделал, с моей мандривой случилась трабла, и пришлось ее с пинка запускать и обламывать.

В прошлой жизни у меня тоже траблы были с новыми ядрышками. А вот когда просто перекомпиливвл стандартные, то все нормально было. Так что, ИМХО, лучше поискать до дискам исходники ядра.
