У меня одна большая трабла: Хочу прикрутить к Slackware beryl но не знаю как. Скачал beryl и поставил. Что надо еще сделать? Я счастливый обладатель Ati. Надо запускать через xgl. А как? не знаю

Начнем с того, что чтобы собрать xgl нужно иметь модульные Иксы.
Их (искы) нужно или собрать, что геморно, или ставить с пакетов, благо такие есть и вроде даже работают Modular xorg for Slackware.
А вот где взять исходники xgl, кроме как с CVS я что то как то не понял, но юзать CVS мне не сподручно. Может кто подскажет где можно взять последние срезы?
В случае с NVIDIA можно использовать последния дрова и не использовать xgl, но так у меня лично не работали тени окон и меню - черные рамки, как фиксить не понял, просто убрал тени.

Новые иксы я уже поставил. Остановился на поиске xgl в сурсах. CVS не разу ни юзал и не знаю че да как.

Все поставил xgl. Все работает. У меня была проблема при сборки Mesa выдавала ошибку. Решением проблемы оказалось переход обратно Xorg 7.1 на Xorg 6.9 (штатный).
Т.к. есть где то конфиг отсылающий в /etc/X11R6/

удивительно работает круче чем сюсь. токо напрягает что изредка пропадают кнопки "свернуть-восстановить-закрыть" в шапке окон

Решил собрать xgl по статье из журнала хакер но у меня при сборке proto выдается следующая ошибка

configure: error: proto-GLProto is now maintained at:

Кто мне скажет что нужно делать?
P.S. Хотя если собирать xgl по манулу с http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software_2fXgl то такого нету.

Все я эту проблему решил. Надо было сперва скачать и собрать git затем выполнить команду

и появится папка glproto входим в нее и собираем дальше по инструкции.
Но появилась другая ошибка при сборке Mesa

У меня Xorg 7.1 стоит собирал как написано в форуме. У меня такие ощущения что где-то надо опять конфиг править. Но может я ошибаюсь

Я собирал. Дрова стоят последние с сайта www.ati.com. По скорости я особых отличий не нашел. Видюха Ati Radeon X800 GTO 2.

Собирал и по первому и по 2-му результат одинаков. Так что все на твое усмотрение
