Если найдешь под свое ядро собранный модуль nvidia драйвера,
сами nvidia вроде только под suse собирают модули

Ну вообще нужно собирать модуль той же версией gcc что и собирал ядро и уж сорцы нужны того ядра, для которого собираешь модуль.

Можно установить это ядро, а потом скомпилить с его исходниками. Что за ядро-то?

Можно собрать инсталлятор с драйверами для своей системы 1 раз и при следующей установке исходники ядра уже не понадобятся. что-то типа NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9746-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel

дров в репозитарии нет.

дык я знаю. просто система будет с нуля ставится, а на диске нет исходников ядра.

Их там и небудет никогда, так как NVidia не выпускает драйвера по лицензии GPL, а исходники являются закрытыми

А скачать сорцы видимо придётся, если нехотите иметь проблем с Хсами.
