После установки нового ядра не определяется флешка (Mandriva Linux 2007 Free)

У меня было ядро 2.6.17.5mdv (родное). С ним у меня проблем не было никаких - все флешки при подключении определялись и автоматически монтировались. Скачал с kernel.org ядро 2.6.19.2, поставил и обнаружил, что теперь флешка не определяется (у меня Kingston). Поддержку usb-storage я при сборке ядра включил, более того, когда подключаю мобильник, Linux видит его карту памяти (хотя раньше видел еще и память телефона). То есть получается, что usb вроде как работает, но очень странно... Я когда флешку втыкаю, она даже в /dev не появляется, как будто её вообще нет
Что это может быть такое?

P.S. Очень прошу не предлагать в качестве решения проблемы установку предыдущего ядра

А если в ручную монтировать ругается?

Так в том и проблема, что монтировать нечего, её как устройство не видно. Может, это из-за того, что на ней FAT, а не FAT32?

Проблемма из за того что разработчики этого дистра на оригинальное ядро скаченное с kernel.org накладывают много пачей. Если ставиш новое не паченое ядро много чего начинает отваливаться. Отказываються работать автомаунт и много что ище. Как што надо пачить ядро перед сборкой тогда проблем не будет.

Atragor, подключите флешку, подождите несколько секунд и дайте из консоли команду dmesg, в конце вывода будет инфа как ядро прореагировало на флешку, увидело не увидело, какие устройства в /dev ей соответствуют. Чтобы увидеть только последние 40 строк вывода dmesg, то:

та же ситуевина была с 2006 мандривой, ты просто включил не все модули которые нужны для работы с флэшками. например у меня запарка была с scsi-emulation.
вывод пересобирай заново но смотри внимательно.

Но телефон определяется. Я его подключаю, в /dev появляются sda и sdb, sda сразу монтируется, а sdb не хочет (на телефоне и карте памяти FAT, в винде определяются без проблем - как обычные флешки):

Ну да фиг с ним, с телефоном... Когда флешку втыкаю, в /dev ничего не появляется. fdisk, dmesg и usbview никакой инфы не дают. LightFalcon, скажи пожалуйста, что надо в ядро включить, я подключал usb mass storage, может, что-то еще надо? Тогда посмотрю .config, возможно действительно забыл что-нибудь

SCSI disk support (BLK_DEV_SD) - нужно для Mass Storage

USB support
USB device filesystem (USB_DEVICEFS)
USB Mass Storage support (USB_STORAGE
USB Mass Storage verbose debug (USB_STORAGE_DEBUG) - чтоб в консоль валилась инфа по подключенных устройставх.

А вот SCSI emulation у меня выключено и флешка работает

yros, у меня все, что ты перечислил, включено, кроме USB_STORAGE_DEBUG. USB_STORAGE включен как модуль (другого варианта при настройке не было)

USB_STORAGE_DEBUG нужен только для вывода отладочной инфы в консоль, можно попробовать включить: флешка не заработает, а лишня ифа о ней не помешает. А USB_STORAGE включен как модуль наверное из за того что USB вобще модулем включено.

Что могу посоветовать:

1. Загрузить старое (рабочее) ядро и скопировать куда то файл /proc/config.gz - это сжатый конфиг рабочего ядра, разархивировать подсунуть в исходники новому ядру и сделать make oldconfig, правда не знаю как будет с патчами, которых в новом ядре нет. В любом случае можно посмотреть что включено выключено в старом ядре. А мандривовые патчи лучше наложить.

2. Не работает USB Mass Storage, так есть ещё Device Drivers > Block devices > Low Performance USB Block driver (BLK_DEV_UB), Mass Storage лучше отключить, флешки будут как /dev/ub*

По поводу вывода fdisk -l : флешку оно не видит, что и понятно если в /dev при подключении устройства не появляется.

Без компиляции нет, можно загрузить его конфиг подправить и скомпилировать.

А лучше всего после компиляции и установки ядра исходники не удалять, в таком случае повторная компиляция проходит очень быстро. Так как пересобираеться только то что было изменено в .config

Свой конфиг сбросить не могу, по памяти не помню что включал, ибо мучался долго. в 2007 все работает на ура без бубна, а 2006 снесена.
