Вот такая вещь выскакивает при заходе на сервер

Ну значит нет пользователя "ftp" на сервере.

Глупый вопрос: а в сообщении об ошибке точка после ftp стоит, или ты ее вписал, когда сообщение копировал?
А то, может, он пользователя ftp. ищет?

ещё может быть настройки самого демона не стандартные посмотреть бы vsftpd.conf , ах почему же я не телепат ?

Проблема эта теперь исчезла
Теперь при заходе на серв никаких файлов не видно, хотя
