Учетные записи: root, пользователь. Загрузчик GRUB. Окон. Менедж. GNOME.
Перед установкой драйвера я скопировал его на рабочий стол. Далее нажал еа него правой влавишей и выбрал пункт меню «GDEBI Packadge installer» при установке пакета Debian попросил меня вставить установочный дистриб. В CD-ROM, что я и сделал. Debian не видит модем, а модем не видит Debian(не горит индикатор).

vpi value must be between 0 and 4095
vci value must be between 0 and 65535

The vpi and vci are numerical values. They define the vpi.vci used
by provider. For instance: 8.35 for France, 0.38 for UK.
The vendor and product are hexadecimal values (4-digit with a leading 0x)
They define the vendor ID and product ID. For instance: -vendor 0x0915
-product 0x8000 for an ECI Telecom USB ADSL Wan Modem.
The encapsulation mode may differ depending on the country/provider/modem.
If you experience LCP requests timeout or IOCTL errors at connect time, try
another one (e.g.: LLC_RFC2364 for Switzerland).

vitaliy@localhost:~$Я так понимаю ,что все закручено на этом конфиге и мне надо его как-то отредактировать .
Я зашел по пути /etc/eciadsl/, но файла eciadsl.conf там нет.
Попытался его создать, но для этого нужны права root,
которые работают только с командной строкой.
Я неумею ни создавать файлы и папки, ни редактировать ,ни петемещать их через командную строку (как будет internet, буду учится).
И еще, немогли бы Вы подсказать хорошую книгу КОНКРЕТНО ПО LINUX DEBIAN(Желательно на Русском.)
