после emerge -e system не выключаеться

погите пожажалуста. после установки с gentoo xor 2006.0 сделал emerge -e system. после того как пакеты сталию решил выключить комп, набрал halt и тут выскачело вот это

и на этом намертво все зависает

Juliette сегодня вечером попробую заменить на твой,потом отпишусь

Вот еще что, я поставил локаль ru_RU.KOI8-R, но думаю из-за этого ведь не может быть.

Вполне возможны ошибки при смерживании конфигов - можно просто удалить этот файл и затем переустановить sys-apps/baselayout.

halt.sh от Juliette не поможет.

Также следует убедится что /sbin/functions.sh существует и не испорчен.

еще в /etc после установки появились файлики дублирующие некоторые конфиги но к имени были добавлены еще какие то индексы.
