Установка прог из исходников (configure: command not found)

Пытаюсь научиться устанавливать проги из исходников, но тут же столкнулся с:

1. configure: command not found
./configure: Нет такого файла или каталога
Видимо нужно доустанавливать какой-то пакет configure?

2. make: *** Нет правила для сборки цели `/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++/qmake.conf', требуемой для `Makefile'. Останов.

А что за архив? Может там бинарники, а не исходники?
Или требуется какая-то хитрая установка?
Вы перешли в директорию, которая образовалась после распакования архива?
А какой дистр?

Дело в том, что не все программы собираются из исходников путем ./configure && make && make install.

Следовательно, чтобы разобраться как установить ту программу, которую у Вас не получилось установить, возвращаемся к сообщению номер 2 и отвечаем на заданные уточняющие вопросы. =)

Система Mandriva 2007.1, точно собираю из исходников, пытался собрать несколько прог- gnome commander,sunbird.
Точно в том каталоге который распаковал. Еще когда в консоле просто набираю команду configure - то пишет command not found. Вроде установка не хитрая а обычная, в install ничего не обычного по крайней мере нет

Вот список, только windows (пишу из него) кодировку похерил блин

тут че-то не видно даже намека.

Случилось чудо, после 30 переустановки mandriva, configure заработал. но вот теперь Я застрял на make

нужен -dev пакет для glib, если в мандриве есть что-то типа "средства для разработки"(а лучше чтобы были и средства разработки для Gnome отдельным пунктом) в качестве выбора в установке программ - нужно установить. если нет(или не поможет) ... ищи glib-dev или что-то подобное по пакетам.

пока ./configure не закончит без ошибок свою работу, make не запустится. для gnome-commander'а тебе прийдется достаточно много -dev'ов всяких поставить, скорее всего.

Спасибо, в принципе теперь понятно все.
А вот попытался собрать kxdocker
пишу ./configure
а в ответ Your prefix will be /usr
в read me к программе про это не слова.
Чтобы это значило???

Попробуй так: ./configure --prefix=/usr

Полный список доступных параметров можно просмотреть, задав команду ./configure --help
Либо иногда пишут в файле INSTALL

Да, и для того, чтобы ты в дальнейшем не путался.
configure - это файл, а не команда. Так что доинсталлировать никаких утилит не нужно.
Вводя ./configure, ты запускаешь на выполнение исполнимый одноименный файл. Только убедись, что он имеется в директории. Просто некоторые проги уже идут с готовыми Makefile'ми, поэтому скрипта для сборки оного в таких случаях нет.
