Проблема с установкой NVIDIA Драйверов на ноутбуке

Звраствуйте уважаемые форумчаме.

Мучаюсь уже пару недель с установкой драйвера видеокарты Nvidia GeForce Go 6600 на ноутбуке Toshiba A4 под Mandriva 2008.

1. Для начала узнал ID устройства: ‎0x0148 (как показывает "менеджер железа")
2. для него скачал драйвер с NVIDIA : NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.09-pkg1
3. Установил kernel-laptop-devel-2.6.22.9-1mdv (у меня стоит kernel-2.6.22.9-1mdv)
4. Ctri +F1
Root
init 3
chmode -x NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.09-pkg1
./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.09-pkg1
5. установка как-бы прошла нормально. (Конфиг автоматически не правил).
6. В конфиге прописал Driver "nvidia" вместо "nv" в Section "Device"
Load "Glx" в Section "Module" уже была.
7. Дальше init 5 и вместо ожидаемого результата остается режим init 3.

Поставьте из пакетов и не мучайтесь, разница в производительности между версиями 100.хх и 169.хх почти не видна, к тому же 169.09 у многих так же вызывает проблемы.

Я не сказал что проблема решина, я сказал что вопрос закрыт,
Я пошол по пути наименьшего сопротивления и получил положительный результат.
