Занимаюсь программированием игр, сейчас пришла пора вплотную занятся Unix системами.
Я довольно давно знаком с openSuse посему взял последний дистр(10.3) и поставил на свою машину(AMD X2 4200+ GeForce 8600GT).
Все замечательно встало и заработало. Все кроме видухи. Ну вроде мы люди наученные - взял скрипт от NVIdia
telinit 3
sh NVIDIA*.run -q
sax2 -r
shutdown -r now
nvidia-xconfig --composite
nvidia-xconfig --render-accel
nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals -d 24
shutdown -r now

ПОд меню появились тени, и всякие другие визуальные мелочи в инетрефейсе.
И больше никакого эффекта. в /etc/X11/xorg.cfg вроде все отмечено. драйвер nvidia, а не nv.
SaX2 показывает, что видуха NVidia GeForce 8600 GT.
В свойставх указано RenderAccel, NoAccel отсутствует. И при этом поддержки 3D нет. Да и вообще перерисовка окон тормозит так, будто драйвера не устанавливал.

На гугле меня не забанили, но ничего похожего на свою проблему - не нашел.

Всем привет. у меня линукс SUSE 11.0 , ядро ; 2.6.25.5-1.1 , GNOME 2.22.1, озу: 2,5 гБ, процесссор: intel core 2 duo E6300@1,860 ГГЦ, видеокарта; ASUS nVIDIA 8600 GT.
драйвера(177.82) установил с официального сайта, после перезапуска Х-сервера появился логотип NVIDIA. драйвера установились. Но нету поддержки 3D и например при изменении размера окна нагрузка на процессор возрастает до 75%, ну а если в это время слушаю музыку то плеет на мгновение заикается при изменении размера окна(например обозревателя файлов Nautilus). В nvidia-settings моя видеокарта отпределилась правильно, все характеристики соотвествуют. в файле xorg.conf

интересно...

поусле установке драйверов появилась поддержка эфектов рабочего стола.
Если кто сталкивался с проблемой поодержки 3D на видеокартах nVIDIA, или кто то подскажет по настройкам конфигурационных файлов что то путёвое, или по настройке ядра, то напишите.
Мы можем всё, просто мы ещё этого не знаем...

Если мне память не изменяет, то надо убрать или закомментировать Load "type1". Но могу ошибаться.

Покажите полностью Xorg.0.log (только в кодебоксе или как там... чтобы не так длинно показывалось)

А вообще, какой-то не красивый у Вас xorg.conf :)
Зачем в xorg.conf строчка про BusID? Попробуйте закомментировать.
Vendorname vesa - не прикольно как-то, хотя, наверное, и не мешает.
No valid modes - не умеет так оно, вот и ругается. Если не лень - уберите эти значения в соответствующих строчках.
Зачем Вам вообще строчки где Depth 15, 16, 8? Вы же все равно используете только 24...
Что такое Option "Clone" "off" и Option "Xinerama" "off"? В смысле оно реально нужно?
И, наконец, Option "Composite" "on" - у меня не on, а "Enable". А это как раз за 3D отвечает. Может в этом дело?

Если память мне не изменяет, то там можно и "on", и "enable", и даже просто "1" поставить.

строка BusiD необходима, так как она указівает на то в каком слоте находится видиокарта.

сейчас не нужно(нужно если используется 2 монитора). єти опции отключены, они не мешают.

ну вообще то что "on" что "enable" что "1" это стинные значения (true).

Насчет BusID - сколько у Вас видеокарт?
Насчет On/Enable и т.д. - это понятно. В данной строчке можно вообще писать просто Option "Composite" и оно включится. А оффициально можно 1, on, true, yes.
И все-таки интересно было бы посмотреть полный Xorg.0.log

в нету в некоторых директориях фрифтов, но это сейчас не критично... сейчас интересует 3D ..

3D инициализируется но запускается 2D.
в настройках графичестой карты и монитора, опция включения 3D ускорения неактивная (бледная)...

Почему Вы решили, что 3D не работает? Glxgears?
У меня, например, примерно все то же самое (glxgears, glxinfo, sax2 со своей неактивной, но включенной галочкой...). И все работает (проверил на игрульках).

проблема в том, что при изменении размера, свёртывании, развёртывании окна --- очень большая нагрузка на процессор(70-95%)... в шахматах (GNU Chess)нету 3D... это на компе у брата... у него такое железо как и у меня на компе... тоже suse 11 у него, только КДЕ 3.5.9... у него такие же точно настройки Xorg.conf... но 3D нету... он не люитель играть... поэтому других 3D игр у него нету... а устанавливать новые не хочет (что б проверить 3D) так как чере я ст не интересно, а из исходников много доустанавливать пакетов нада...
Вообщем думается нада будет пересобрать ядро, а то уж вот это смущает

Sunc to VBlank(в настройках OpenGL) не получается включить, какие шаги необходимо предпринять?
Галочка ставится но Sunc to VBlank не включается и после ребута кеды отрисовывают разноцветные поля, если включен 'Параметры системы'->'Рабочий стол'->'Включить графические эффекты'
Открываю nVidia X server settings и Sunc to VBlank (в настройках OpenGL) чек-бокс пустой.
