Установка модема на виртуальную систему Fedora 5

Здравствуйте всем!
Очень нужна помощь!

Значит необходимо протестировать факс - сервер hylafax на fedore машины. Выделять отдельным комп мне не хотят, поэтому пришлось ставить виртуальную машину. Ставил Fedora 5 на VmWare 6.

Родная система Win XP SP2. Есть внешний модем Zyxel Omni Smart 56K. Он подключен к COM1 порту.

В VmWare добавил устройство COM1 в виртуальную систему. Установил в fedore VmWare tools. В VMW Tools это устройство подлючено. Ниже скрины.

Вот теперь пытаюсь настроить модем с помощью kermit и minicom.

В kermit'e пишу
C-Kermit>set line /dev/ttyS0
C-Kermit>set carrier-watch off
C-Kermit>set speed 57600

А дальше он просто зависает и не могу ввести ничего вернее ниче в терминале на пишется, по сути я должен был писать ATE1Q0V1.
С minicom такая же трабла ничего не могу писать в окне.

Попробывал создать модемное соединение в инет. Определяется какой то generic modem...

Я пока новвичек в никсах, у самого стоит 8 федя, сталкивавлся с проблемой внутреннего модема, а с внешним вроде проблем не выходило, может дров нету? нашел хорошую вещь, вот, можеет поможет:\cnxtinstall.run: это исходник, есь криво будет работать могу выслать куданить, просто потерял забыл где я его качал. принцип работы, проверяет твой модем и ищет дрова на него, сам их и ставит. Удобно.
