Здраствуйте. Такая проблема. Система виснет намертво в случайный момент времени. Посмотрите пожалуйста.

Было подозрение на драйвер nvidia. С vesa тоже самое. Проблема еще и в том, что комп может нормально работать несколько часов или даже дней, а может зависнут несколько раз подряд в течение получаса. Условия при которых это происходит я так и не определил. В момент зависания вообще может ничего не происходить в системе.

Superkaramba не стоит. А на счет CONFIG_FAIR_GROUP_SCHED, у меня вообще нет такого параметра в ядре. Попробую вечерком ядро пересобрать, в Gentoo такого не было.

Да, что type1 не загружается в логах еще утром увидел, закомментировал. Но опять таки повторюсь, с vesa тоже виснет. memtest на ночь запускался, ошибок не было выявлено. Я в замешательстве :wacko:

А у меня такая фигня случается: виснут не иксы, а клавиатура отваливается в случайные моменты времени. Если перезапустить иксы (мышкой через меню), то опять работает нормально. Машина -- тоже AMD на нвидиевском интегрированном чипсете (6150). Что делать с этим так и не придумал. Может у тебя тоже самое?

у меня намертво всё виснет при запуске нативных 3D игр в fullscreen и win игр черз wine в в windowed режиме. (video g965 / driver intel 2.3.2).
А какая у вас операционная система? Windows 98... NT... 2000... ХР... "Могучая кучка" линуксоидов с фанатично горящими глазами... UNIX? © Полонская Е.Л.

У меня видео radeon 9200pro. Если используется драйвер vesa, то иксы грузятся (оконный менеджер twm)
Если драйвер radeon, то иксы виснут уже при загрузке (twm даже не все окошки успевает вывести).
А если гружу KDE, то иксы виснут в любом случае, правда с vesa загрузка проходит почти доконца. Кстати, когда происходит зависание,
то помогает только reset. В логах Xorg'а ошибок не содержится. На этой же машине пробовал Debian и Gentoo. В обоих случаях все работало отменно, и 3D-акселерация была с драйвером radeon. А вот в Arch'е не заводится. :blush:

хм...обновил всю систему pacman -Su
теперь на radeon ихсы и кеды запускаются, но работать все равно нельзя: время от времени случается жесткое зависание, например, при запуске glxgears комп виснет где-то на пятой секунде, а так же при попытке сменить тему в fluxbox.

Поправка: видео там не 9200pro, а 9250pro

периодически слетают иксы со словами:
мы сломались. попробовали запуститься разов 5 - не смогли. поэтому мы отключены. если что - читай лог.

вся беда в том, что, как было уже сказано, можно поймать несколько глюков за полчаса, а можно и несколько дней проработать.
попробую тоже acpi=off .... посмотрим....
но это действительно не решение.
до этого пользовался длительное время Opensuse 10.3 - ничего подобного не случалось

Искал очень долго решение этой проблемы... не знал уже на что грешить... ядро пересобирал раз 10 разных версий... дрова переставлял и с реп и с офф сайта.. ни че не помогало... пришлось даже несколько раз переходить назад на убунту (с ней перешел на arch)...
Потом как оказалось проблема было в acpi...
добавил в menu.lst опцию acpi=off и зависания прекратились... но эт тоже не выход... дико неудобно без него.. особенно на ноуте (как у меня)
Потом нашел на буржуйском форуме решение, нужно добавить след опции к ядру в menu.lst:
