1. выводы #emerge -pv xorg-x11, xorg-server, ati-drivers?
2. вывод #сat /usr/src/linux/.config | grep AGP DRI
3. вывод $ glxinfo | grep rendering - при запушеных иксах
4. вывод #lsmod | grep fglrx
5. и самое интересное: иксы стартуют/работают? (судя по логу - работают)

но сначала в xorg.conf:
1. 2 видеокарты - одну можно/нужно убрать
2. в Subsection "Display" - закоментить все кроме
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
нет необходимости указывать Modes, драйвер замечательно выбирает разрешение, ему только цвет нужно указать

3. раскоментить

это и есть аппаратное ускорение от юзера

Если нет необходимости в 3D-ускорении, то, имхо, стоит попробовать использовать открытые драйверы Radeon. С ними, по собственному опыту, на сегодняшний день уже меньше проблем, чем с проприетарными - они не требуют даунгредить ядро и отключить в нём "то, то и вон то", так же как и не требуют пересборки после обновления ядра.

P.S.: пардон, не обратил внимания на модель карты - со старыми картами, в частности 9550, у них, кажется, нет проблем и в 3D.

Не хочется создавать новую тему..... но при установки драйверов 9.5 с офф сайти ati они выдают мне ошибку...... я уже и ядро пересобирал ..... но ничего не помогает... может кто то сталкивался.....

удалось нормально собрать драйвера 8.593 только на ядре >= 28 с xorg-x11 7.4, xorg-server-1.5.3

Ядро собрано с поддержкой паравиртуализации. Недодрайверы ATI не умеют собираться с таким ядром. Нужно отключить CONFIG_PARAVIRT. Возможно, что достаточно будет собрать их с ядром, в котором отключена паравиртуализация, а запустить их удасться и на ядре с включенной.

Однако, это ебилд с багзиллы, где автор назвал ебилд как общую версию драйверов, а не версию билда. Билд будет 8.620 или 622, как-то так.
Этим дровам в обед - двести лет.
Я бы все-таки либо размаскировал дрова те, что есть в портежах для ~x86 или бы обратился на офф сайт. Ну или, конечно же зашел бы на ветку Gentoo Bugzilla и скачал бы ебилд для последней версии драверов...

А, кстати, проблема с glxgears была и у меня на старых версиях дров. Там права доступа были кривые. Попробуй от рута, сто пудов все ок будет.

Приветсвую.
Имеется видеокарточка Radeon HD4890. Иксы с драйверами от ati не стратуют вообще. Вываливается ошибка с логом ниже


xorg-server 1.6.1.902 (1.6.2 RC 2)
адро 2.6.30-gentoo-r2 x86_64. Впрочем на всех ядрах вплоть до 28 одна и таже ошибка. Только код сигнала с 11 меняется на 8.
ati-drivers-9.6

Дрова и с офф сайта скачивал и из портежей ставил. Свободные драйвера для этой карточки еще не реализованы.

Я так подозреваю, что-то в ядре не так собрано. Конфиг ядра предоставлю, если потребуется.

Так это ж он и есть. Тут он переименован, т.к. у меня их много скопилось для разных версий дров и ядер).

Размаскировал уже ati-9.6, xorg-server 1.6.2-r1, поставил ядро 2.6.30-r2. Но всё равно при компиляции вываливается ошибка

Да, но через терний... По-крайней мере не нужно ничего размаскировывать и ставить последние *стабильные* версии gentoo-sources и xorg-server с USE-флагом "VIDEO_CARDS: ati" или "VIDEO_CARDS: radeon".

Не-не-не, Bazz, Не-не-не... ати без патча на ядрах после 28 не пашут. Я сам сижу на 28. Есть ебилды с патчами, но мне лично пока влом...
С другой стороны, твоя ошибка к версии ядра отношения не имеет (ати компилится, но не пашет на >28).
Приведи полный log файл со сбора на новом ядре...
