как выставить частоту верт развертки?

Исходные данные:
- видеокарта ati 3850
- crt монитор покдключеный через dvi переходник.

После загрузки системы устанавливается частота верт развертки 60гц (мягко говоря не очень комфортно для глаз). В гуи опциях монитора невозможно поменять ни разрешение ни частоту развертки (монитор не определяется, тк работает через переходник)

Соотв пробую gtf , копирую получившейся modeline в xorg.conf - реакции ноль.

Поставил проприетарные атишные дрова, но рефреш рейт так и не удается поменять. В настройках гнома только 60 и 43 гц. Пробовал шаманить xorg.conf но результат нулевой. Ниже привожу конфиг.

Посмотри эти значения в характеристиках монитора

эти значения получены с OSD монитора при 60гц и 85гц под виндой, так что на счет их я уверен

Вы сделали традиционную ошибку: в Modes записали режим не так, как в Modeline. Понимаете, «1024x768_84.00» — это ничего не значащие для X-сервера числа, это просто строка, которая должна уникально идентифицировать режим. Важны только следующие за этим идентификаторам частоты. В Modes должен быть прописан идентификатор, то есть полностью строка «1024x768_84.00».
HorizSync и VertRefresh можно не указывать, они должны правильно считываться с монитора.

Где он стандартный, если у вас есть Modeline, но нет Modes?

Снес убунту, поставил Дебиан ленни

Что еще можно сделать ??

p/s раньше у меня получалось выставить 85гц в убунту (ставил в декабре прошлого года), сейчас вроде бы все теже настройки но не получается не понимаю в чем дело. Честно говоря уже руки опускаются (

вроде бы все делаю также, но нихрена не выходит, выставляет дефолтные 60гц от которых глаза режет (

да мозг уже в дырках весь, вот и ошибку допустил.
исправил, не помогает, по прежнему 60гц, какие еще варианты можно попробовать? (купить жк монитор не предлагать :) )

Уберите HorizSync и VertRefresh.

С опцией vesa после перезагрузки выставляется неподдерживаемый режим (на мониторе окошко с параметрами H89.9 и V60).
И это независимо от принтудительных опций в хорге. Даже дефолтный хорг конф с включеной опцией vesa выставляет неподдерживаемый видеорежим.

пробовал убирать в разных вариациях (и моделайн тоже) - результат один - когда есть "vesa" - выставляет неподдерживаемый режим, как только весу убираю, все нормуль (60гц)

Для вертикального рефреша пропишите не интервал, а просто 85 (если оно поддерживается) или 75 (больше похоже на LCD).

проблема решилась установкой видеокарты с d-sub разъемом
видимо другого решения не существует
