apcupsd (не стартует)

упсник back ups es 525

установил пакет apcupsd
подправил конфиг , как мне надо

делаю apctest

и далее по тексту

потом решил выполнить # /etc/init.d/apcupsd restart
выдало ошибку >>
Please check your configuration ISCONFIGURED in /etc/default/apcupsd
погуглил нашел причину в файле прописал
/etc/init.d/apcupsd
CONFIG=/etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf

снова пытаюсь выполнить # /etc/init.d/apcupsd restart
пишет
/etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf: 29: UPSCABLE: not found

в файле все есть
# cat apcupsd.conf | grep 'UPSCA'
# UPSCABLE <cable>
UPSCABLE usb << та самая 29 строка на которую ругается

откатил в файле /etc/init.d/apcupsd строку
CONFIG=/etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf на ту которая была CONFIG=/etc/default/apcupsd

в файле /etc/default/apcupsd сменил ключ ISCONFIGURED=no на ISCONFIGURED=yes

стало стартовать
# /etc/init.d/apcupsd restart
Stopping UPS power management: apcupsd.
Starting UPS power management: apcupsd.

кто нибудь может объяснить за что отвечают файлы в папке /etc/default/ и почему в /etc/init.d/apcupsd идет проверка

когда конфиг лежит в /etc/apcupsd/

[sash-kan]

в /etc/default находятся опции для управления init-скриптами (располагающимися в /etc/init.d).
