проблема с ulimit -n помогите разобраться (ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted)

вот такая проблема. не могу выставить больше 1024 кол-во открытых файлов через ulimit

в файле /etc/security/limits.conf Добавил

user hard nofile 32000
user soft nofile 32000

в /etc/pam.d/common-session

добавил session required pam_limits.so в конец файла т.е. счас он выглядит так

#
# This file is included from other service-specific PAM config files,
# and should contain a list of modules that define tasks to be performed
# at the start and end of sessions of *any* kind (both interactive and

session required pam_limits.so

после login/logout делают ulimit -n 1026 и получаю

ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted

что делаю не так?)

Добавил в common-sessions новую строку после последней строчки не было вроде заработало

только еще один вопрос


user@dev:~$ ulimit -n 10000
user@dev:~$ ulimit -n 10000
user@dev:~$ ulimit -n 10001
bash: ulimit: open files: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted

так и должно быть? после Logout/login сново можно менять

раз уж установили максимум для потомков текущего шелла, то увеличение его (максимума) выглядит как-то малоосмысленно.
