CUPS: Unsupported format "application/vnd.cups-banner"

Конфигурация: Archlinux, Xerox Phaser 3117, SpliX V. 2.0.0. Конфигурация рабочая, неизменная. Принтером пользуюсь нечасто, потому сказать, что и в результате какого обновления сломалось, не могу.

В гугле данная ошибка представлена, но все случаи какие-то мутные и разные вдобавок.

Про application/vnd.cups-banner известно следующее: CUPS Banner File Format. В общем и целом понятно, что это такое. Непонятно только, куда могло деться и как вернуть на место. Можно было бы подумать, что только тестовая страница печататься не будет, но нет: не печатается ничего, да и job не формируется.

В Archwiki ничего нет, и на форуме не отвечают, что немного странно и весьма печально. Такие дела, а принтера нет уже скоро две недели.

Нестабильность арча никогда не составляла и не составляет особой проблемы, за единственным исключением: CUPS и остальное принтерное хозяйство. Если по обновлении ничего не сломалось, каждый раз думаю - "значит, вы чего-то не заметили" ©. Сегодня особенно хреново, но и раньше бывало немногим лучше.

Недавне у коллеги подобная ошибка вылечилась перезапуском CUPS.

Рад за коллегу. Демон перезапустил? Попробую отдельно, хотя в процссе уже выключался/перезагружался...

UPD:

Включил принтер, сделал cupsd restart (успешно), попробовал напечатать тестовую страницу из Web-интерфейса CUPS - сабжевый облом :(

UPD:

Может это быть какая-нибудь хрень с правами? Что-то изменилось, а я и не знаю...

Вот еще эксперимент:
$ lpr Requirements.txt
lpr: Error - no default destination available.
$ lpq
lpq: Error - no default destination available.
$ lpr -P Xerox_Phaser_3117 Requirements.txt
lpr: Unsupported document-format "text/plain".

Это что-нибудь значит ?

Непонятно, к сожалению. /etc/cups/pstoraster.convs действительно отсутствует. Есть только /etc/cups/gstoraster.convs, начинка выглядит безобидной:
application/vnd.cups-pdf application/vnd.cups-raster 66 gstoraster
application/vnd.cups-postscript application/vnd.cups-raster 100 gstoraster
.
И что бы это значило? А Till Kamppeter, судя по заголовку файла /etc/cups/gstoraster.convs, большой человек. Должен бы знать, что говорит, только мне сложно понять...

поставте лог побольше
cupsctl loglevel=debug2
посмотрите, что напишется в лог.

"text/plain" есть в файле /etc/cups/mime.types или /usr/share/cups/mime/mime.types?

Оказывается, надо было переустановить ghostscript. В гугле намек на такое дело всплывал; беда в том, что я знал совершенно точно (и не ошибался), что пакет установлен. Потому и попробовал только от отчаяния... Unix way, между прочим, отучает от лечения переустановкой, да.

Тогда вопрос общего характера: в каких случаях разумно предполагать, что переустановка показана?
